Excitement!!

Doug and I bought a house on February 25th, 2009!!!  We are now homeowner's, which is exciting and a little overwhelming.  We bought an older house on 20 acres with a barn and a shop.  We are so excited that we can finally have our dogs with us instead of only getting to visit them, Archie and Mac have been kept by Doug's parents.  Right now Doug and I are working on cleaning up and painting the house before we move in.  We'll be moved in by the end of March so I get a house for my birthday!!    Even more exciting...I get to pick out a kitten!!!

Yes, I am still alive...

So, it has been a long time since I have posted.  But I am finally back!    Let's see...what exciting things have been going on in my life recently...  Last Fall a Bassador adopted Doug and I.  We've named him Archibald (pronounced Archie - bald), Archie for short.

Isn't he adorable?!  He is the sweetest little dog.  A little funny looking but so cute!!

Random fact

I have discovered that I have been lying to people for a few years...    I am 5' 10" tall, not 5' 9" as I have been saying for years.  I apologize to you all!

A lot has been happening recently, so much that I have been wishing that life has a pause button so I can just stop everything for a little bit.  But through it all I am learning to trust that God knows and cares about all the things that are going on in my life.  So even when I can't keep up with everything I feel like I need to do, I can trust that God will always be there and will be able to take care of the things I don't get to.  It's a slow process, but thankfully I have a husband and friends who remind me that I don't have to do everything and that the world won't end just because I can't keep all the dishes washed all the time.

Recent happenings have included: my Dad having knee surgery, my Mom's back getting re-injured, my Honda's back windshield randomly shattering, figuring out the details of buying land and starting to build a house, work getting a little crazy as we prepare for ERP (Early registration program), and a nasty cold that is finally going away.  But I've been amazed to see how God is taking care of us through all the craziness.  Doug got his 1988 BMW running just a week or so before my Honda lost it's back windshield so we have 3 cars and I can drive the BMW to work and Doug has his truck.  We're getting closer to buying the land and we have figured out the perfect houseplan (it has a dishwahser in it!!!!  ...and other things, too, of course).   And through everything I have had the joy of being married to a wonderful man who has become my best friend and biggest encourager over the past year.  I am so blessed by the family, friends and husband that God has given me!!   (Even if Lacy and Liza did push me off that mountain in Peru once...)

New weblog name...

I came up with that one when I was waiting in the back of the church right before the wedding.   I thought it was hilarious then, but it might have had something to do with being really nervous and excited at the time.
